Behind the scenes at the BBC

Last updated: 03 August 2007

Ever fancied a peek behind the scenes? Fancy having a go at reading the news? What about sports commentary? Could you do better? Then we could have just the event for you in Swansea

BBC News and Sport on Tour is taking place at events around the UK this summer culminating in Swansea on August 15 to 17.

It's on the road with an interactive marquee to give you a behind-the-scenes look at BBC News, Sport and Weather.

This is your chance to have a go at reading the news on television or radio in our special studios.

You can also try out some of the technical roles involved in getting programmes on air and check out some of the interactive services the BBC has to offer.

Top names from BBC Wales and BBC News and Sport will be there to chat, give advice and help you have a go yourself.

There are activities for all ages and it's free.

Visitors can take part in both Welsh and English-speaking bulletins.

You can find the marquee at the city's Castle Square and it'll be opened from 10am until 6pm Wednesday August 15 through to Friday August 17.

Among those who'll be there will be Sara Edwards, Alan Thompson, Ray Gravell, Gwenan Edwards, Brian Hanrahan, Ron Jones, Steve May, Peter Donaldson and Richard Evans.
