Right through the Summer until September, it's promised that the Bay will be alive with more events, shows and carnivals than ever before.

Events in September to December
New events for 2006 include the
Swansea Bay Film Festival, running from 2 - 9 June at the Dylan Thomas Centre and other venues, and the new
'SeaSwansea Festival' in July. The festival combines old favourites from the sea shanty festival with a new programme of fun at the National Waterfront Museum. Contact 01792 635428 for more details.
For 2006 the Swansea Bay festival also features events celebrating Gower's 50 years as the UK's first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
From Tuesday May 16th to Sunday August 13th Swansea Museum hosts a
'Golden Gower' exhibition with free entry. From June 3rd to 11th the Gower Walking Festival will give walkers of all ages and abilities to discover the beauty of the peninsular on foot. Contact Mumbles Tourist Information on 01792 361302 for more details.
Following the Cancer Research 5 kilometre 'Race for Life' in May, the British Heart Foundation
'Junior Bike Ride' is expected to attract hundreds of fundraising children to Singleton Park on Sunday, June 25th. Meanwhile the charity's
main Bike Ride, with two routes of 16 and 29 miles around Gower takes place on July 2nd. Telephone 0800 783 6970 or visit the

Arts events include
Outdoor Shakespeare, with a performance of
Macbeth at Oystermouth Castle on June 7th and 8th, while nearby All Saints Church hosts music recitals every Wednesday from June through until the end of August.
Massive MusicThe infamous 'Escape Into The Park' dance music festival returns to Singleton Park on June 17, with Newport's finest Goldie Lookin' Chain heading the bill. The festival opens its doors at midday and runs through until midnight.

BBC Radio Wales' Big Buzz free pop concert visits the grounds of the national Waterfront Musuem on Sunday July 23, and as always will be broadcast live on the station.It's not the only music festival to be held at the musuem either - Saturday July 22nd will see 'City Streets - Summer Beats 2006', the free dance festival, taking place in the National Waterfront grounds.
The
Grand Theatre has a number of productions running through the festival including Abba Mania from June 5th to 10th, and Saturday Night Fever from July 3rd to 8th.
Classic Wheels
Transport enthusiasts will not be disappointed with what the festival has to offer either. The re-named and re-located free
National Transport Festival of Wales takes place at the Recreation Ground on June 18th featuring more than 400 classic vehicles. The free Swansea Museum Classic Motorcycle Show on June 18th at Dylan Thomas Square is an essential date for the diary, while July 8 sees what's sure to be a memorable day - it's when owners of classic and sports cars race around the Gower coastline in the
'Classic and Sports Car run', in aid of the Swansea National Eisteddfod.For fans of festivals and carnivals there's two dates you have to add to your diary - Pennard Carnival takes place from 14 - 16 July, while the unique
Gower festival - billed as a "special blend of wonderful music, beautiful churches and summer evenings", runs from Saturday 15 - Saturday 29 July.
End of the Summer party
As Summer starts to draw to a close there are still major events in the Bay.
