Last updated: 27 April 2006

BBC ONE's popular programme ANTIQUES ROADSHOW opened its doors to the public when it visited Swansea's Brangwyn Hall on Thursday, 27th April 2006. Were you there?

  • We'll have more information on when the programme is scheduled to be broadcast later in the year - keep checking back at bbc.co.uk/swansea

  • What's it all about?

  • Some of Britain's leading antiques and fine arts specialists are on hand at the roadshows to offer free advice and valuations to visitors, who are invited to raid their attics and bring along their family heirlooms, household treasures and car boot bargains for inspection by the experts.

Michael Aspel, who has presented the sunday evening programme for the past six years, accompanies the Roadshow as it travels around Britain.
"The Antiques Roadshow is literally a national treasure," says Michael. "It's a detective story, a game show and a history lesson."

  • What happens on the day?

  • Michael and members of the public at a recordingSeries Editor Simon Shaw says:
"The team are all looking forward to visiting Swansea. It's always exciting to see what will come to light on the day. We regularly see between 1500 and 2000 visitors on the day. Despite the high turnout everyone will get to see an expert."
