Not generally regarded as a quality surfing beach but it is seven miles long and faces South West so it must get some swell!
Best at high tide due to the shelter provided from the wind and less likely to close out.
A good beginner's wave, as it normally has small choppy surf, but, classic sessions have been known to occur.

I grew up on this beach, still learning to surf but I find that Llangennith has better waves than Cefn Sidan. The waves carry out longer and they are higher, I got some great memories of Cefn Sidan though so I still love it xx

I'm moving to your part of the world for April. I'm an old skanky body boarder, and would appreciate advice on wet suits booties to enjoy your local waves. Later.

It works at high tide. Best first thing in the morning or late evening with higher tides & lighter winds. Its about a foot smaller than Llangennith. Its been working great recently at 3-4 foot. Surfers tend to meet in the west(beach) car park.

This beach is lovely - but dangerous. It has rip tides and sand banks...

I went there on 21 of November and the whole beach was deserted and best of all it wasn't cold it was quite hot with the sun out. The views were wicked of the Gower and the Pembrokeshire coast. There was hardly any huge waves.

This place starts to work when Llangennith gets to 3-4 foot. When this happens you will get a 2+ foot wave here. Works on a easterlies and northerlies. A great place to escape the hell crowds of the rest of South Wales. Take your pick of empty peaks.

This is my favourite wave in South Wales. Nice and friendly and picks up quite a bit of swell.

As previously stated, can provide a good surf but be wary of the undertow that can be extremely strong on occasions.

If you hate the crowds at Llangennith surf here instead, is far more chilled out and only a little bit smaller.

Have been surfing this area for several years now and it gets really good waves, about a foot less than West Gower. I prefer it to Llangennith because it never gets crowded and is easier to get to from the M4.

At high tide, with a decent swell and a NE-NW wind, Pembrey can turn on some fun long-board waves. If not head west or across to the Gower.
