Kirsty, the current women's UK Kite Surfing Champion, was given a free £500 bookie's bet on herself to complete the trip at odds of 2-1 thereby raising what could be thousands of pounds for the Ty Hafan Childrens Hospice, Cardiff. Clearly tired after completing her task, Kirsty commented:
"It is a strange feeling being back on land and I am a bit wobberly. The sea was so choppy and when the wind picked up I nearly gave in. Then I glimpsed land which gave me so much hope."
In our previous interview Kirsty had commented on her desire to cross the Atlantic by Kite but that now seems to have been put back on the shelf for now.
"I had been thinking of doing the Atlantic but I have definitely been put off by that."
During her crossing Kirsty's heart rate was recorded by a Hac4 (HAC - acronym for Heart Rate Monitor Altimeter Computer)
Below is an image from the Hac4 showing her heart rate during this crossing. BPM = Beats Per Minute.
