The 2005 show was held on 27 AugustSituated some five miles east of Carmarthen, Llanddarog village plays host to this annual event, a key date in the local agricultural calendar traditionally held on the last Saturday in August.
Traditional competitions held at the show ground include horse and pony, cattle, sheep, horticulture, and a dog show. These are accompanied by handicraft competitions both for adults and children; and a baby show. Entertainment is provided in the main marquee on the evening of the show.
The Llandarog and District show started in 1954 as a YFC calf rearing competition, going on to become a one-day agricultural show eleven years later. 1966 saw it taken over by Llanddarog and District Agricultural Committee, and since then it's grown in size, leading to a change in location. At present the event is held at Pantypwll Fields in Llanddarog.
