The 2004 show was held on Friday 6 AugustThe Fishguard Show is one of the largest one day agricultural shows in Pembrokeshire, reaching its 147th birthday in Fronhaul Fields in 2004.
In the showground three rings are devoted to equine competitions and three to cattle competitions. Visitors will also see a crafts / horticulture marquee, a dog show area and a vintage tractor area. The results of a field crops competition are also announced on the show day.
Attractions for all family members included a display by Sun Falconry, a tractor tug-of-war, a display by the Pembrokeshire foxhounds, a side-saddle display and a threshing demonstration (a chance to view traditional harvesting methods).
The Fishguard Show started off as a ploughing match in the Castle Morris area, with the first show taking place on Tuesday 11 August 1857 at Swan Fields, organised by Dewsland and Kemes Farmers Club. Classes were held for cattle, sheep and pigs. Between 1893 and 1972 the show was held at Maesgwynne Fields, although during this time the show stopped for the duration of the two World Wars.

I went to watch my sister compete in the unaffiliated jumping. It was a lovely day and I enjoyed walking around with my newborn baby. It was nice to breathe in the last bit of fresh air from West Wales before moving to Tokyo. I heard that my sister Genna competed in yesterday's show on my horse Lolly in the Foxhunter and came 4th. Well Done Gen and Lol!

At the Fishguard show 2003 I entered the fancy dress class on my dads beloved 15.1hh traditional Krystel. I was a fairy and both the horse and me looked fab. It was a bit windy and Krystals long mane and tail ,wich was covered in glitter, was flowing in the air and made her look even more amazing. We won the class and when it was time for all the winners of all the classes to go in and collect the prizes the speaker thought that I was supposed to be "Lady Godiva".I went and collected the cup and when I turned to go back to my space in the line the speaker started clapping. Krystel got frightend and set of in a huge trott. I thought I wasnt going to be able to stop her but I did and it turned out ok. We had a big laugh after but it was a really good day. One of our other traditionals won reserve champion colored!

I think all shows are brilliant because each time you go you learn something new and meet new people.
