Hello out there - just noticed that nobody seems to be interested in Ponty this year, so come on you Pontyarians just look at our town it's trying to develop into an out-of-Swansea experience, so lets get talking and let the town planners know what we want in our little town have a great week.

...relocated from Northern Ireland to Ynysmeudwy in August 2007, love the area and its people; it has everything we could wish for plus an unbelievable welcome from the warm-hearted local people. A second home which feels as good as our first home. 'There is a welcome in the valley'

As the New Year quickly approaches and Ponty is gearing up for 2008 I would like to thank all those dog owners in and around the Ponty area for not taking notice of my comment back in July, I still walk and jog the canal path and the dog mess has got worse - please keep it clean it's spoiling the town.

Spent 2 weeks in Ponty. Very friendly, helpful people. Loved the Arts Centre. Good bus service to Swansea and Neath. Nice to have Tesco. Great tasting chips.

As a keen jogger I use the Swansea Canal regular from Ponty to Ynysmeudwy and I am very dissappointed with the Dog mess that you will find on the towpath. When are people going to realise that they are letting the town down with visitors to the area thinking what a mes? When are the council going to clamp down on it and stop them spoiling this great attraction?

I moved to Pontardawe with my family in 2004 from Clydach. It's has a feeling and attitude of a traditional welsh town with a proper focal point and town centre from st Peters downwards. It has everything you need. A Theatre/Cinema, Swimming pool, Leisure centre, the canal, the river Tawe for sports fishing etc. There are many great pubs which serve good quality food and drink. There are good hotels and B&B's. The local butcher has won many awards for locally reared produce. It's a vibrant and continually developing town which i'm sure has a great future.

My favourite thing about Pontardawe is the Arts Centre - it offers live performances in the theatre and films are shown there. An excellent facility for the Swansea Valley!
