Lost Love

Kay - 1965 Poetry written by Terry Kemp of Rhos, Pontardawe.

I lost my love on 14th February 2005
We had been together for 40 years 5 months 6 days
Not one of these days was wasted
Except for the times I had to work away.
Kay, you and I had two lovely children
That we can and will always be proud of.
Now that you are free of these earthly things
I am sure that you are seeing our grandson grow up
I also know that now and again you visit me
As many friends of mine tell me
That we had a real love story and what a life we had!
Although Progressive Multiple Sclerosis
Has taking all our savings
I am still the richest man
In the world
Because I met you on August 8 1964
I smile each time I see your photograph - and there are many in this house.
I miss your touch and yes you are my
Lost Love.
Terry

So You Think You Love Someone

When you're young, you meet someone
After a while you feel something for this person.

The friendship turns to love and your feet don't touch the ground.

As this love develops you decide to make it more permanent.
So you live together or marry.

During this relationship you have your ups and downs
But you still love each other.

This then matures into something very special.
You get to the middle part of your life and your love still flourishes.

Then some thing happens that changes your life forever and
your world comes crashing down around you.

You see your once young lover deteriorate and deteriorate and you realise that she now depends on you more and more.

When you are young in life you thought you were in love

But when tragedy hits you, your love gets stronger and stronger.

Until there are no tears of pain
only those of love.

Terry Kemp

This is deeply moving, Terry. I am so sorry for your loss. The love that you and Kay have is beautiful and inspiring. Cherish your children, they are the gifts that you and Kay continue to give to the world. Thank you for showing us what marriage is supposed to be. Many blessings to all of you, and may she now have peace in Heaven.
