Peace On Earth

War veteran

By Simon Bennett-Odlum of Fishguard, now Atlanta

It would be nice if there was no more war
Wounded, bloodied bodies, death, no more,
If politicians would just listen, not shout
When they're mad, just throw dishes about

A tea cup here, and a dinner plate there
Is better than missiles flying in air
Because even fine china one can replace
But never a totally destroyed human face

When those politicians have a very big beef
That leads us to war, and consumate grief,
Maybe the politicians themselves should fight
And war would disappear, like, just over night!

Wonderful Simon. And so true - I know I'd rather have a dinner plate aimed at me than a missile!! :-)
