Where Were You The Day They Burned Miami Down?

Aberavon Beach 2003
By Paul Needs

These lyric's from singer songwriter Paul Needs were written about the memories he holds of being a teenager at Aberavon Beach during the early 70's.

Do you remember the way your chest just got so tight when she said hi?
Do you remember those hot days? We had California within our reach
And what about the deckchair pile - Or Donkey rides right down into the surf

Where were you the day they burned Miami down?
Beer Kellar nights turned into dust, just like that
Where were you the day the whale washed up upon the grass,
Or when Jersey burned the Sandman to the ground.

Buckets spades n ice cream cones,
Hot dogs, burgers, donut "O"s
Laughing at the beauty shows,
now it's a wasteland. It's just a wasteland.

I remember Aberavon like that! I also took a look at Paul's web site, and there are more words on there, and some of his music is not bad either!
