Pembroke Arts Club

Paintbrush Pamela Davison invites interested people to join the Pembroke Arts Club.

Established in September 1946, the Pembroke Arts Club holds weekly winter meetings at the Pater Hall, Pembroke Dock. These are held in the upstairs room (entrance from Lewis Street) from the first Thursday in October until the first week in December. Meetings then restart on the first Thursday in February and they run until April.

Our Winter programme is varied and ranges from music, poetry, art demonstrations to talks on local history, wildlife, travel, drama and crafts. The meetings end with a cup of tea and a chat.

The highlight of the Summer is our Open Art Exhibition at Pembroke Town Hall, now in its thirtieth year. It is held over the August Bank Holdiay weekend. Entry forms for this exhibition are available in local libraries from June.

There is also a member's exhibition in Pembroke Dock library during November.

During the Summer months no meetings are held, but we do hold a coffee morning at Pembroke Town Hall, usually in July.

Additionally we organise a Spring outing and during November we have a trip to Cardiff.

At present we have 70 members (of which 30 are artists). Yearly membership is £8 (junior members 50p). Admission to meetings is 50p for members and £1 for non-members. New members and visitors are very welcome.
