I was born and raised in Longford, Neath Abbey, and was sad to hear that the Gwyn Hall had burned down. Had many a memory of school plays, pantomines, and dancing there and will truly miss showing it to my husband when I return this summer to Neath from Texas. Please rebuild this AWESOME building.

As an ex Neath Abbey boy my daughter, her husband and two kids came back in '95/96 and went into the Gwynn Hall, the Market Faggots and Peas and all the other places around. I really wanted a photo of the First World War tank which used to be in the Victoria Gardens but was cut up for scrap during the last war. You must rebuild Gwyn Hall it is part of Neath's history...

Please please rebuild this beautiful building. This is the heart of Neath and I am sure that all in Neath and surrounding towns/villages would like to see it being restored.

Given the importance of the Gwyn Hall to Neath, we should do all we can to ensure that it is rebuilt and not replaced with a modern monstrosity.

I was so sad to hear about the Gwyn Hall. I had many a Christmas Party there when I was a child. Please have them rebuild it as there are not a lot of historical beautiful buildings left in Neath, I notice that every time I come home.

Truly devastating. Almost everyone from Neath has been involved with something in Gwyn Hall. I was really upset when this happened. It's just shocking. Lets just hope that the building will be rebuilt back to the way it was soon! A big thanks to the firefighters and the police involved with helping with the Gwyn Hall Fire - you're legends.

This is a very sad day for us all in Neath. The Gwyn Hall was such an iconic building, from a time long past, when civic buildings had character and strength. So many of us have happy memories of times spent in the Gwyn Hall, enjoying community events. I hope to see it restored.

So sad to hear about this. Our father used to play in the band there for the local operatic society. I spent many enjoyable nights sitting with him, about 50 years ago.

Very sad day indeed I just hope that they rebuild the Gwyn Hall back as it was using the same stone bricks because it gives the town character.

This is a devastating blow to the whole community. This building was not only a historic and cultural treasure but was a integral part of the unique character of Neath. We have lost an invaluable asset of our community

Tonight is a truly shocking one for anyone with a fondness for Neath town centre, as I look across the town from here, I can see the Gwyn Hall is burning down! There are huge flames coming out of the roof. I, along with many others, I'm sure have many fond memories of the place, past school plays, amateur dramatics, concerts, etc.
