"Having spent much of my life in my hometown of Narberth, I have seen so many changes in my 47 years, Narberth over the last ten years or so, has definitely become very well known for its quality of shops, its cultural events, and the community spirit in the town.
"I attended the church school in town which closed back in the 1970s and has now become a catholic church. On leaving school I joined the 'firm', the firm as it was known locally was James Williams Brewers in Narberth, where my father, grandfather and great grandfather had all worked. It was owned by a local family and still exists today, but in a different location, and now owned by a multi national.
"Narberth is centrally located in the county of Pembrokeshire, with the coast just 8 miles away, and the county town of Haverfordwest a mere 10 miles away. This is why the town has become a very popular tourist destination, for both day trippers, and long stay visitors.
"During the year we have a number of high profile events such as the Civic Week in July, the Winter Carnival in December, and our expanding Food Festival in September. Narberth is a foodies paradise, with specialist individual shops, for the best county foods, and for foods from around the world.
"I am the County Councillor for Narberth, and this is a honour in itself, to represent a town with an abundance of history. More and more Welsh is now spoken in town, which is excellent, because when I was a child Welsh was hardly ever heard, but more and more young people especially have taken up the language.
"I believe that what has made Narberth so special over the years is the people who have moved into live, not just from all over the UK, but other parts of the world, and they have brought with them ideas, community involvement, and much more.
"Finally whenever I go on holiday I'm asked 'Where are you from?', I used to say 'Near Tenby', now I say 'Narberth', and usually the reply is, 'Been to Narberth, what a gem of a town'."

Does anyone have any information about the Women’s Land Army in Narberth, Pembrokeshire. My mother was based there and I would love to know more.

My great great grandmother came from Narberth. I don't know her first name - her surname was Thomas and she married Samuel Evans and moved to Ireland with their children, one being my great grandad Edgar Samuel Evans. Her brother was Edgar Herbert Thomas, he was an artist born in 1862. They were horsebreeders and farmers. If there's anyone out there with info I would appreciate it.

I attended Narberth Board School '54 to '57 ('Squib' Owen was our teacher) and then Whitland Grammar of the dreaded TTT. Everyone thought that Whitland was "the place" because of the railway and dairy. How things have changed! Just take a look at the class of good old Narby today and compare with Whitland.

Narberth - great place. My grandfather, Herbert James Owen was born here in 1885, and the postman for 48 years. He married Ellen Griffiths from Maenclogchog
