Keith Davies, Manordeilo.

It is not often that I visit Narberth these days; however, when I do I cannot help being transported back 50 years or so and see the old town as it was in the late 1950's to the mid 1970's.

It was my home and always a good place to live and with friends like Macky, Smiddy, Clyde, Titchy, Massey, Phil(MLP), Pouchy, Pask, Howitt, to name a few: how could it be otherwise? Good old boys from a good old town.

Modern Narberth is not really much different from then, except that retail outlets have changed (John Williams excepted!) and of course 'James John' and Bill the Chip Shop have long gone.

I visited Narberth on holiday in Pembroke and didnt want to leave! It's such a friendly place. At a coffee shop I visited, almost everything was homemade, including the jams and everything that wasnt homemade was locally sourced. Almost next door was a cosmopolitan cheese and olive shop, selling lovely wines too; marvellous.

Narberth is the place to go shopping! Forget Swansea and Cardiff - they've got nothing on this town! If your looking for a present or want to spoil yourself then head West!
