This profile is taken from the BBC Wales Music website:This memorably-monikered group formed in 1978 in Haverfordwest, when 15-year-old punk schoolmates Barrie O'Dare and Keith Haynes decided to emulate their heroes. They played their first gig the following year at the Sir Thomas Picton school as The Frames, having recruited a bassist and drummer. By all accounts they were dreadful.
The gig resulted in the departure of O'Dare and the recruitment of a host of transient members, but the band eventually stabilised with singer and bassist Tim Horsley, Rob Folland playing guitar, and Haynes on drums.
With the line-up settled, the band played many punk shows around West Wales, and supported The UK Subs. PFS's shows, however, were often marred by violence, with battles fought between bikers and punks. In 1982 a follower of the band was stabbed outside a venue in Whitland, and shows in Kidwelly and Narberth were chaotic affairs.
The scene was growing, though, and in 1982 Picture Frame Seduction won the Anti Nuclear Alliance battle of the bands contest in Aberystwyth. Around this time Keith Haynes left the band.
Throughout the bulk of the 1980s PFS's fanbase grew, and they toured with many bigger punk acts and played at festivals. The band recorded their first album, The Hand Of The Rider, in Lampeter, and it was released in 1985.
Despite their growing popularity in Britain and overseas, the band began to fall apart in 1986. The following year they played farewell gigs in London and Haverfordwest.
Not that that was the end, though. After a 14 year break, Picture Frame Seduction reformed with the original line-up of Haynes, Folland, Griffiths and Horsley to play a gig at The Waterfront in Haverfordwest. Horsley was later replaced by new bassist Steve Arthur. An album, What's That Hardcore Noise - a mix of live and new studio recordings - was released in summer 2003, and a new album is reportedly in the pipeline for a January 2005 release.

I got turned on to this band about a month ago whilst in Germany on holiday. Out of interest I checked them out at the Clwb Ifor Bach on Sunday night. The place was rammed full and this band are the best I have seen in a number of years. They are not underated, they threaten estblished rubbish, and thats why they are ignored. And to be honest I like them as they are, approachable, friendly mixing with their fans and signing shirts and records. Yes, no aires and graces just total love of punk rock. Thats good enough for me as the song goes.
And I know its good enough for them too. Top night in Cardiff boys, keep on rocking in the free world.

If you do nothing else this year check these lads out. They roasted the stage with The Anti Nowehere League last night in Gloucester. There must have been 400 plus there and the kids loved em' PFS are the damndest finest punk act along with Goldblade this country (and I mean the UK) has to offer. Check them out Wales and leave the big (so called big) bands to love themselves, you have a real band on your doorsteps. Go and see em'.

Didn't know what to expect when I trecked across to the Waterfront to see these boys. I gotta say it was confrontational, loud, aggressive and full on punk rock. I lost my wallet in the crowd, and I don't care. This was the best attended gig I have ever been to down this way. And what a night. You got to hand it to em, they are the best Wales has in this genre'.

Bands like PFS have done more to influence certain sections of Welsh youth than many can claim. No matter the generation they have done more (IMO) than the acceptable bands of the day. I hope this time around they get the plaudits they deserve, as a live act they are absolutely dead awesome.

Punk Aid Wales was a complete sham people, and no excuses. I missed this band and to be honest them and one or two others was what the whole thing was about. Badly organised nonsense from start to finish, PFS must have been well gutted. I wish the band the best for the Haverfordwest gig. I am sure hundreds will turn out in their home town.

They were fooling around with the Silent Twins and all the Pembs punks if I am right, great story. Yes, this is ok, punk rock, who would have thought that Green Day would like these guys ;-)

PFS are an awesome band. Wales should be proud of them HA HA! They never will be though, because honesty hurts. Too busy sucking round the legs of The Manics and Feeder to notice good honest musicians like these guys, and many who set the scene way back and still do today.
