I was born in Llanelli many years ago, now living in Western Australia, have many many fond memories of Mumbles my mate's in-laws used to run "The Antelope" pub, I think that was the name, I did a lot of my courting in the Bamboo dance hall at the start of the pier and then on to the car park overlooking was it Bracelet Bay? Love seeing pics of the lighthouse etc, when I was there some years ago the lifeboat was carrying out trials between the islands, a great place love you Mumbles.

I left Mumbles in 1967. It is great to see your photos of the old place - it has changed - so thank you.

Went to stay in Mumbles for six weeks in 1979 when my husband was working at the Ford plant in Llanelli. We rented a house just below Oystermouth Castle and had a really nice time there. My younger daughter was only six months old and doesn't remember it of course but we have lots of photographs and happy memories of a golden summer on the Gower peninsula. My older daughter was 9 at the time and I remember taking her to the hairdressers where there was a very pretty 9 year old called Catherine Jones having her hair cut to. Could it have been the now famous Catherine Zeta?

Roger and Hazel Jones, Gawler, South Australia,
Love to see photos of home too, we left there in 1958, i still have relatives in Swansea and Llanelli. I will always remember learning how to row a boat on the lake in Singleton Park when I was around age twelve. We are planning to return for a holiday 2008, so don't go away!

I remember as a 7-year-old in the late 40's being sent from London to Dunvant, my father's birthplace, and catching the train from there to Swansea Bay and then the tram to Mumbles and playing on a beach, Bracelet Bay(?), just around the headland from the lifeboat station. Oh happy days.
