I became interested in Llandeilo and its lovely surrounds through interest in a famous 1936 flight by Merrill and Richman in a Vultee V-1A aircraft 'Lady Peace' - the transatantic record breaking so-called Ping Pong Flight which called for refuelling nearby.

I was gratified at the interest shown on many local sites but wondered if anyone can recall directly or through relatives the precise landing site a few miles up river? Best wishes John Roberts.

Lyndsey Maiden - soon to be near Llandeilo
We love the market town with its lively atmosphere. We're moving to a smallholding nearby and hope to be selling some of our stock at the Friday market when we're up and running. Beautiful location, great town, stunning wildlife and visitor attractions in the area - what more can you ask for?

Your excellent site on Llandeilo is not complete without a mention of Llandeilo Country Market. Held in the Civic Hall on Crescent road every Friday between 8.30 and 12.30 the very popular market provides a wide range of food items, cakes, scones, quiche, fruit pies. Many savoury items, pork, steak and kidney, chicken, minted lamb shank pies, cornish pasties and many more. Good localy produced veg and eggs. Crafts, including knitwear, cards, pictures ect. A wide range of plants and flowers. Come along and have a tea or coffee with a cake and look around.

We were so impressed by Llandeilo that we decided to move there; and hope to complete the deal in the near future. Great to have a town with a wide range of shops and none of the big supermarkets. Long may it last.

Edward Thomas, Llandeilo
Llandeilo is a great town to live in with so much going on with various clubs and societies and a lot of good work is done by the Rugby & Football club etc; but what Llandeilo needs for its young people and adults of all ages is better leisure facilities such as a Leisure Centre including a swimming pool. Carmarthesbhire County Council needs to address this need.

I was staying with friends, Revd and Mrs Lewis Soar Mans Pontyberem and we went to the Royal Welsh Show from Llandeilo railway station to Buith Wells and had a look around the town,we were a bit too late for the exhibition at St.Teilo`s church but I was very impressed with the town shops...
