Shame about the athletics provision within Swansea. All great footballers and rugby players are great athletes. Pity our population are becoming a bunch of watchers.

I was in Swansea when the Stadium was completed. I was hoping to see an Osprey game but the Swans opened the stadium first and the Ospreys played after I left. I have made it my goal to see a Rugby game in that stadium. Maybe now with this stadium Cardiff won't be the only place the WRU play out of.

Swansea's New stadium is one of the best around,it knocks sports off the Millenium Stadium in cardiff.let's hope in the future we will have the likes of the the premiership teams to our stadium.
Swansea deserves to be in the premiership..

I used to be one of the original groundsmen for The Morfa, there was two of us who used to look after it cutting and marking out the original pitch and the ground around it. I went for the first time today 22-11-05 to watch the Rushton and Diamonds game and couldn't beleive the difference in the place. Commendments to everybody who has worked on it and also to the people who maintain it still.

I have an idea for the name for the "New Stadium":-
Considering it`s dual use for Rugby and Football,I think it should share the old names of both of these Swansea clubs. The rugby team was the "All Whites" and the football team was "The Swans".Therefore the name "The White Swan" would be
appropriate. The name "New Stadium"lacks imagination.

It rules. I love it. Swans won 7-1 it was brill well done to whoever designed it. You did a super job. I wanna say hi to tom lloyd and james o'rourke. They rule. I haven't been there yet. I can't wait to go. It must be a brill atmosphere there turning in to a real footie club championship next season that would be quality.

The New Stadium Swansea?!? Where's the old one!?!?
Come on Stadco, sort it out!
I've got a suggestion for the new name - THE NEST!! Think about it, ...Swans, Ospreys!!!

3 days left now 'till Ospreys v Wasps, and I can't stop thinkin about it. I'm so proud having such a fantastic stadium so near my home area Brynhyfryd. I got my ticket for Friday, and I expect it to be a sell out. And no matter what it is officially named, I will always call it White Rock....

In my opinion the stadium looks top quality. I went to the first league game at our new home against Tranmere. I thought the seating was perfect probably a good view sitting from any position in the stadium. The atmosphere at the game was better than expected and looks like the supporters have carried on their weekly choir duties. The club shop is great inside and there are good refreshemants on offer at the ground. I especially enjoyed that chicken balti pie yum yum but I hope that most the fat boys don't eat them all before I arrive ha ha.
One last thing congratulations to all the builders of our new stadium, you have done us all proud...

As a Birmingham City supporter old enough to have remembered Trevor Ford playing for the then Swansea Town, I offer my congratulations to your Club for not only making a recovery from some dark moments in recent seasons but in your promotion to Division 1 and in moving into such a splended new Ground. It shows that you cannot keep a good club down. Best of luck in 2005-6. Pity though the Vetch name could not have been kept on as I am a traditionalist but that is just nitpicking. Now if Cardiff City can get their act together you can have two top class clubs in S Wales.

Excellent stadium for our little club. The fact that we don't own it means we can't run up debts on borrowing and we will be able to consolidate our position as also rans. I particulary like the concrete greyness and 'off the shelf' design. Great bargain!!

After saying my goodbye's to my beloved spot on the north bank against Shrewsbury, I'm now looking forward to claiming my seat down the White Rock. The only problem being, even with a brand new stadium!! The atmosphere will never be the same as the Vetch. But nevermind, it just put's a smile on my face everytime I think of Cardiff being 30 odd million in debt and the Swans with a brand new 30 odd million pound stadium. Sweet!!!

The new stadium is awesome!!! I drive past it everyday and have watched it from the start, and can't wait to get my season ticket this Thursday. The way things are going with the fan base we should be able to get some class players to go with the talent we've got already and push for promotion next season. Good luck to the boys and I would like to be playing Cardiff next season...

I think the stadium is excellent but why a 20,000 seater stadium? Darlingtons stadium
is a 27,000 seater stadium, what happens when
the Swans are in the championship there won't be enough room?

Coming from Swansea i have very fond memories of the old Vetch but new stadim looks fantastic. lets only hope that the swans get promoted otherwise it will be just the best stadium in league two. Keep it going and look forward to meeting the swans in the Championship the season after next.

I am really disappointed that we're leaving the Vetch, as location wise I always thought the Vetch was perfect and it holds a lot of memories. Still at least the new stadium looks fairly impressive and goes a little way to softening the blow...

Just heard on the news that Cardiff City are in turmoil, and have sold Kavanagh and others are possible to be sold as well, just goes to show that Sam Hamman.... when he wants to build a 60,000 seater stadium costing millions when he can't even pay the wage bill of £750,000 a month because of poor support averaging 10,000 a game. Come on you don't have to be a rocket scientist to work that out, Wimbledon FC the second!!
PS Take a leaf out of the Swans directors and chairmans book and be wise with your money.

It looks fantastic, and we now have two teams worthy of it.

With regards to the less supportive comments! Why are some people so negative towards the new stadium, we've got to move with the times if we want to progress in footballing terms. And we need to progress! The stadium is smashing - come on the Jacks let's compete at the 'better' end of the footballing spectrum!
Wed Jan 19 13:50:38 2005

I was very impressed with the new Stadium and sourounding facilities during a return visit home to see our family over the Christmas & New Year holidays. (Our only dissapointment was watching the Swans being beaten by Yeovil !). We all think the ground-share is a great idea and can't wait to watch the Swans or the Ospreys during any future return trip home.

Derek Dyer - Morriston
I have supported the Swans since 1945 and
whilst I am rather sad at them leaving the Vetch I think that the Morfa stadium looks quite impressive. However I have reservations that the 20,000 capacity will be insufficient to cope with the demands as we progress up the leagues. I wonder if that probability has been considered by the appropriate planning authorities and have they made any provisional plans for that situation.

As an ex Swansea schoolboy I have just returned to live in Wales.I visited Swansea and saw the magnifcant stadium that is being built. All I can say is that after paying at the Vetch Field on many occasions I would love to be young enough to play at the new stadium. It might make youngsters proud of their city and you never know might produce another Ivor Allchurch.

Having seen the stadium it reminds me of Derby's Pride Park. Same kind of general shape. Looking forward to see the Jack's up here hammering the owls next season, and then who knows, hopefully the Blades the season after. About time we in the west had something to be proud of, seeing as Cardiff seems to get all the money and facilities. Nice one magic daps on the hat trick against Notts.

Stadium looks tidy - and having spent a few games last season as a 'guest' on the North Bank - I'm looking forward to coming down to the new stadium and checking the Swans. Though I doubt it will be with my lot - 'the mighty Pompey ' - you need to catch up a bit first boys (though your new ground will be a damn site better than Fratton Park !!) Shouts to Jacki,Oskar etc

Mike on tour in Helsinki
Wicked stadium ... a manager that has passed the test for me ... now! After listening to staff and supporters and willing to change, in his own way. A board that at present is looking to be the bedrock of this new Swans movement and the best asset and as important as other three put together ... the team. The foundations of a new glory years era ... c'mon the Jacks.
Wed Dec 15 10:21:52 2004
Paul Bessent from Surrey ( ex Gowerton Boy)
The new stadium looks wonderful, puts the Bluebirds to shame, we (my 3 sons and I) always arrange our visits back home around the Swans fixture list and travel around the South when Swans are away. My boys are worried that it will lose the "North Bank Atmosphere" because they love it. Let's all now get behind the Jack Army.

Bit worried about the traffic, is the infrastructure right? Stadium looks wicked though.
As another way of pulling in revenue 20/20 cricket seems to be coining it at the mo, has this been considered?

It's about time the Swans had a new home. Over the last 20 years the Vetch has given me many memories but it is time to move to a new home if we want to progress up the leagues. Long overdue in my opinion. Can't wait 4 next season, hopefully in league one.

A fantastic stadium, this is exactly what the club needs to be able to progress into the higher divisions. Although the Vetch Field holds alot of memories it is out-dated and leaves no room for improvement.

Congratulations to Swansea for buliding that fine stadium. It puts us up in Cardiff to shame with that shed we've got. Come on Sam put your hand in your pocket and spend a bit of cash. Well jealous.

What a cracking stadium - just what the MIGHTY Swans deserve! I have lived in Wantage (near Swindon) for 30yrs but still try to see the Swans as often as I can, home and away. My son Matthew (who now lives in Exeter) and I saw the Swans beat Cheltenham on Sunday - great win !!

I think it's disgusting that the Swans are building a new stadium. Wat was wrong with the Vetch?
I think I might make a trip to Cardiff and support them instead.

Don't you think that 20,000 seats are enough? What happens in a few years time when we're playing up the top.

What a fantastic stadium, fit for First Division football next year. I hope that lot from up the road take note what a proper stadium looks like.
