Is it difficult getting down to the harbour from the town? I am told the town of Tenby looks down on the harbour, any answer ASAP - friends are going to book very soon. Thank you very much.

Have been visiting since 7 years old, that was 41 years ago and still never found anywhere that compares. Fantastic childhood memories of my late mother and father. My friend used to come too in the 70's and she feels the same and will be making a trip in May. Get withdrawal symptoms if dont see the old place every couple of years.

I visited Tenby the summer of 1969 while hitching around G.B. I lived in a tent down the beach. I was only 18 but fell in love with the town. My 36-year-old daughter's name is, Tenby.

We first came to Tenby (Lydstep in fact) in 1977 and we holidayed there every year since. I have been coming for 31 years and it is the most special place that holds so many memories. I came with my parents. I now bring my children who enjoy it better that abroad. Tenby is in my heart and one day I want to live there.

We met loads of lovely people and know a lot of them still visit regularly. The views are superb, the people very friendly and the memories unreal - so anyone [who has]not been - 'you must go'.

Can anyone tell me if there is a memorial to Robert Recorde, inventor of the = sign in Tenby, his place of birth?

My first visit to Tenby was over 20 years ago when I was a child, I loved it there I cried when we had to go home. Now I'm going back this year with my own children and I'm positive they will love it there as much as I do. I can't wait to get there!

I visit Tenby a lot in the summer. Rather than drive I jump on the train. Fabulous place for walks and people watching. Hoping to make the big move there next year. All you need is at hand. Love the place.

My husband and I first visited Tenby in 1996 alone, now our three daughters and their husbands love the place just as much as we do. I am not surprised!

My husband and I first visited Tenby about four or five years ago. We enjoyed it so much and it is such a magical place that we visited again two years later. It is one of the few places which I have visited on holiday that I want to return to again, and again. We are about to book for a third visit soon. I love Tenby!

I live in Tenby and it is the best place in the world to live..Honest! There is everything you want, gorgeous beaches and stunning views accompanied by nightclubs, good pubs, and great shops and restaurants. It's great.

I was not born in Tenby, but loved it there more than the place where I was born. Tenby is one of the best places ever I have seen. I love Tenby and people who made that place like heaven.

My husband holidayed in Tenby with his family every year, and now we do the same, nowhere can beat it. I feel like I am coming home when we come up over the hill at the top of North Beach and see the harbour. We come again in just a weeks time - our October half term - if i could persuade my husband to move their we would come tomorrow!

I haven't been for years, but really enjoyed it there. Can't wait to go back and see it again. So wish the bank holiday would hurry up. I so can't wait to be there chilling on the beach.

My mother was pregnant with me the first time I really went to Tenby, it became our holiday place through my childhood and now I am taking my husband who as fell in love with Tenby almost as much as I have always loved it. It feels like home when I am there (which is not enough). I hope to see it in the summer time again very soon and all my dreams would come true if I could ever live there one day. Thankyou for being such a magical place.

I was born in Tenby and lived there till I married. Now living in Leeds, I still class Tenby as my Home and where my friends live. We visit when we can with our family and as the saying goes, 'You can take the person out of Wales but you can't take Wales out of the person'. Fantastic slides.

I remember Tenby from the 70s. We all lived in a beautiful house in Heywood Lane. This is the first time I have seen photos of Tenby for many years. It is still so beautiful. Will visit when I am in Wales again.

Loved the photo gallery. My grandmother used to holiday in Tenby in the early 1900s, her aunt and uncle owned a 'catering establishment' in Tudor Square. Their names were John and Sarah Watkins. Does anyone have any information regarding this or could point me in the right direction? Am busy researching family history so all info welcome. Thanks!

I attended Greenhill Grammar School in Tenby from 1945-1949. I relocated to London until l964 when I emigrated to Canada. One of my pleasures is following the Tenby and area news on the internet. I have always loved Tenby and especially the Georgian houses with their brightly painted facades. They remind me of the Bermuda homes painted in such lovely pastel shades. I would love to visit Tenby again, but health problems make it problematic, so I can only visit it in memory.

We (family and I)spent a week in Wales in October 2006. The day we spent driving along the coast between Milford and Tenby was definitely the most memorable. Notable highlights were the hour we spent in St Govan's church listening to an impromptu performance of Celtic music and our visit to Tenby. Simply unforgetable.

I got together with my fiancee 9 years ago - his sister had moved there 10 years before I knew him and she never wanted to go back to live in Sussex. She loved Wales. I went down to visit and loved it. The beaches, buildings and the people are fantastic. I miss it every time I think about it - hopefully we'll be moving there at some point next year. We just can't bear to be away.

One of the best places I have ever been to, friendly people lovely atmosphere, all though now I find its getting to commercialised. Still a lovely little town.

I was born in Llanhilleth during the mid-1940s, but have lived in south-east London for most of my life. Some years' ago I spent eight fun-filled days in Tenby and fell in love with the town so much that I would like to retire to the resort... Had the work been available locally I would have relocated years' ago.

Such wonderful memories of Tenby in my teens. I am now in my mid fifties. Visiting again next week and will let you know if it has changed.

I remember a wonderful restaurant even though it was named the 'Pam Pam Cafe'. We used to queue outside for opening time. Don't think it will be there now though. Does anyone else remember this?

How well I remember Lisa Cheung, and her mother Mrs Nam and Tommy at the wonderful welcoming Hoi San. Chinese New Year feasts were always special, which my family from my mother to my grandchildren enjoyed, dancing and feasting. I even remember the previous restraunts which her family ran in Carmarthen and Haverfordwest and also her father. I do not go back far enough to remember the pre war laundry however, but nor does she. A special lady Lisa.

I left Tenby when I was 13 for what feels like concrete city. The tiresome journey down the M4 is all worth it when you take your first breath of clean air and admire the views! I would recommend to all to visit Bosheston Lilly Ponds one of the best beaches in the area!!

Sarah home land tenby, work place preston
I have just moved from my home land of Tenby. To work up north in preston i miss home alot including family and friends, i miss just having to walk outside my front door turn the corner and be faced with the north beach. One thing i thought i would never miss but do is the sound of the seagulls waking me at 5 in the morning once the sun has come up. The only good thing is that i can come back and visit my parents and act like a vistor awell.

I truly miss Tenby in the winter, living there with my mother, Mrs Nam, in the 1970's. Being a member of the choir at St Mary's Church and being a friend of Jayne & becoming a godmother to her daughter Cari Rees. Although you are now miles away you will always be in my heart and mixed with my tears of regret. Diolch yn fawr i chi gyd.

I did the Pembrokeshire Coast Path in October and Tenby is 7 miles from the end at Amroth. You decend the cliff to South Beach and Tenby is before you. Unlike most things in life it becomes more beautiful and interesting the closer you approach and the better you know it. I'll be back!

I have just come back from spending a week with family in Tenby and it was wonderful. We (11 of us) stayed in Tudor Square and had a great week on the beach (great weather), swimming (clear & clean water), shopping and watching the harbour fireworks display from our bedroom windows. I can't wait to go back and explore more things about Tenby.

My whole family loves Tenby, we love sitting by the harbour with a coffee from the kiosk while our 5 year old plays on the beach. We now have a new addition to the family this year, I know he will love Tenby as much as we do.

I visit Tenby on a very regular basis as I live almost on its doorstep (Swansea). In fact myself and friends are spending this weekend there. We tend to stay in the Belgrave. Tenby outshines any foreign resort I have ever visited and I hope to be visiting the beautiful Victorian town for many more years to come.
Thu Aug 11 14:40:37 2005

We go to Tenby at least 3 times a year and always have a great time. Tenby is not like any other seaside place - even when it is busy it is still a tranquil place to be. Absolutely loads to do whether old or young at very affordable prices. I recommend a visit to Caldey Island - perfect! The chocolate is to die for.
Tue Aug 9 14:44:11 2005

Tenby is the only place to spend the summer - it's got nightlife, daylife and best of all those beaches!!!

We stayed with our friend Nicola Landragin and really enjoyed Tenby. We saw her son Dominic awarded a prize at the town hall for a poem he had written about walled cities. We don't have many walled cities in Maryland.
