National Waterfront Musuem, Swansea

Wales' £33.5m National Waterfront Museum in Swansea opened in November 2005. Described as a "museum for people who don't do museums", it's set to be one Wales' major attractions. Using real-life artefacts, archive footage, photographs, 2-D graphic panels, interactive computer displays and more, the museum covers almost every imaginable aspect of Wales' industrial and social history. Take a look inside...

The Museum, in Swansea's maritime quarter, is part of an ongoing regeneration plan for the area.
It was designed by Wilkinson Eyre architects, combining the Grade 2 listed warehouse, former home of the Swansea Maritime & Industrial Museum, with a brand-new building clad in glass and Welsh slate. A waterfront terrace overlooks the collection of historic ships in the dock. A glazed "street" links the two buildings.

My wife and I visited the musuem on Saturday and had a pleasant time viewing all the exhibits. One of the highlights was the 'Robot' it was fantastic. I wish them all the best with the musuem. The only items I missed was the old drawings that was on exhibition at the old Maritime Musuem. Where are they now? We ended our day with a walk over the new bridge ,opposite Ty Llen, and along the side of river Tawe and over another bridge that brought us out by the Marina.
