I was born and brought up in Penclawdd and know all the places of which you have pictures - they bring back fond memories, especially those of cycling from Penclawdd to the bays and working in the Caswell Bay Hotel during the summers.

I have just been looking at the pictures of Gower and they brought back such wonderful memories of my teen years (long gone). My parents had a caravan in a field at Port Eynon. We lived in Pontypridd but used to travel down on weekends and in those days it was quite a drive. We had such wonderful times there and made some good friends. On a Saturday a large group of us used to walk across the dunes to Horton where they had square dancing. We were all hopeless but had a great time. We used to see glow worms in the dunes on the way back. Unfortunately Port Eynon has changed so much, and I don't think it is an improvement.

I have had the great pleasure of visiting the beautiful Gower for many years. Now I take my three children on holiday there, our favorite place is Three Cliffs Bay.

Here I am in beautiful Canada but nothing compares to the beauty of the Gower. Oh those beaches and cliff walks, and the smell of the sea. How I long for it all!

I love the whole of the Gower but my favourite spots are Rhossili and Mewslade Bay. My 'hiraeth' is very strong at the moment and, when I get a new car, I will be back!!
