Winter Scenes
Last updated: 30 August 2006
Mark and Elaine Simmonds of Bwlch y Ffin, Rhandirmwyn sent in photographs from the winter of 2005/2006. They said "Bwlch y Ffin is nestled in the Cambrian Mountains. When it snows we get cut off as no traffic (with the exception of tractors) can negotiate the steep inclines. We have hosted stranded travellers and also acted as a contact point for emergency break down services! The children enjoyed the extra days off school and I am lucky enough to work from home."

This reminds me of a farm I visited with my aunt during sheep shearing time. While she helped the women prepare the food for the men I would like to listen if my voice
echoded over the hills. My great grandmother is buried in the little church in Rhanirmwyn
