Gower MacMarathon 2006
Last updated: 11 September 2006
Be part of a picturesque charity walk that takes in some of the best scenery in South West Wales and raises money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
We've also got some
scenic shots taken along the route.
If you'd like to add a photo of the Gower MacMarathon email it to: wales.southwest@bbc.co.uk. Remember to add your name, where you live and brief details about the photo.
This scenic "stroll" takes you along the cliff paths from Rhossili to Port Eynon, onto Oxwich Bay, across the beach to Three Cliffs, and Pennard/Southgate. The walk then takes you to Pwll Du and Caswell Bay, along the cliff path to Langland Bay and finally Bracelet Bay.
Although this is undoubtedly quite a challenging walk you can stop at almost any point because the route is served by public transport at most points.
The MacMarathon has grown rapidly in popularity. In 2005, 600 people registered 97% of which completed the 22 mile course and raised £50,000.

Had a truly wonderful time, the scenery was simply stunning, the weather perfect, who could want for more. See image 9 - there I am caught in the act - eating chips at 11am - together with Donna and Adele. See you there next year. Well done to everyone who took part.
