Hi ya Llanybydder is cool. But I hate the smell of the ... slaughterhouse!! It is disgusting. I like Llanybydder because loads of my friends live here. But now the council have took down the swings in the park there is nothing much for older ones there now, except for the football pitch.

Judith Ablett-Kerr from New Zealand
I certainly remember Llewelyn's grandfather and his impressive car (see Llewelyn Gwarnant Williams above). I also remember Llewelyn and the times we shared as children at Llanunen School. My father kept the Highmead in those days...a very long time ago now!

Jon Conrad - Manchester
All my family grew up here.. they now who they are.. Hello Mum.. and lived there myself for a while the peace and tranquility of the area. and the buzz from the horse sales and cattle marts .. miss it but love manchester.. miss my gran and grandad.. god love em... so if ya read this.. its a great place to go.. as is the centre of the area and the sea isnt too far away.. and the surrounding towns and villages. WOW .. brings back memories

LLewelyn Gwarnant Williams, London
My family played a major part in the community for many many years. Ask your fathers and grandparents what memories of my grandfather Meredith Gwarnant Williams still remain?

Merlin Astley-Jones, Taihape, New Zealand
It's wonderful to see Llanybydder again, (even if I wasn't quite a resident. Ty Mawr boy, see). I left Llan in October '05 for New Zealand and like the saying goes you can take the man out of Wales, but you can NEVER take Wales out of the man. I have nothing but happy memories of Llanybydder (& Ty Mawr). Its personalities, its little quirks and its presence. Hopefully one day I'll return. Till then please post more pictures and keep up the good work posting snippits of info.

I lived in the village in the early 80's. My parents ran The Albion. It is good to see the old village looking so good.

Sarah from Preston
My parents grew up here and alot of my relatives still live there, I spent most holidays as a child there and have some really good memories of playing on that very park (my grandmother still lives around the corner from there)and fishing and paddling in the river - lovely place

It seems to have changed since I lived there from 1970 until 1979.

Jane Roberts from Bristol
I lived in Llanybydder when I was kid from aged 7 to 11,( talkin about the early 70's here!) and went to the primary school ( old site , of course!). I have lots of memories of that school, and sometimes wonder what became of it, cos I know a new school was built after I left.I remember outside toilets, making ice slides in the playground in winter, and the bell tower ringing to end playtime.

Hello everyone! A really nice surprise to discover this website about home sweet home! You are all doing a great job, can we have some more photos of the people living in the village please!? Especially Jade :) See you all really soon xxx Also cannot believe you now have an Indian takeaway!!

Vicky, Cornwall
I will be visiting my son in Llanybydder later this month and will enjoy visiting the river now that I know it's there!

Angharad Jones from Aberystwyth
I was born and bred in Llanybydder and I must say that it certainly has improved over the last few years. We didn't have a youth club, an Indian takeaway or that bandstand in the car park (still haven't figured out why they built a bandstand!) The only thing we had to look forward to every year was the fair and a circus but that's stopped now. I see that the hangout places are still the same, bus stops and pubs. I really do hope that the local councillors improve things for the youngsters of Llanybydder, they deserve it. I still love the place though, best time of my life, so easy going and great local people. Rugby team is improving too, come on bois make me proud!!

Charlene Williams Llanybydder
This place should be improved by the lottery funding that the village get, but the local councillors don't use it on the village. Why not? The places that the youths of llanybydder hang around, are not suitable places for them to be. They need somewhere more appropriate than a bus stop or a pub, especially the under 18's.
