Left Gorseinon in 71 rember it as a vibrant place as a young lad with the Grovesend steelworks, Grovesend Tin, Saw Mills Foundry Mountain Colliery, and last but not least good times at the British Legion. Am 70 years old now but still intend making one last trip back to the LAND OF MY FATHERS

I have lived in Gorseinon for just over a year and think it is a great place to be! With the developments going up in the area, as well as the retail parks, Gorseinon will soon become a main focal point for South Wales. There just needs to be a bit more effort put towards activities for the teenagers...

I was born and lived in Gorseinon (on Pontardulais Road) and the general area until 1966 when I left to go to Canada with my husband (from Ammanford) who had decided to take up what we both THOUGHT would be a 'temporary' working adventure lasting not more than two years at most. We never envisaged that we'd still be over here 42 years later, and it certainly wasn't through any intention or desire to settle here. It just 'sort of happened' until it was too late to undo it.
But I still consider myself as 'just visiting'. Since then I've seen most of Canada and the USA and a lot of other places in the world as well. And even though many of them were far more exotic than the place where I born and spent the first 27 years of my life (my grandfather Albert Thomas actually built a lot of the 'original Gorseinon') Gorseinon and area is the only place that I will ever think of as 'home' in the true sense of the word.
I don't manage to get back there nearly as often as I'd like to. But each time I do, despite the many changes that have obviously taken place over the years, 'the essential Gorseinon' that I will always cherish in my heart is basically unchanged in all the ways that matter to me. Which is why it always 'kills me anew' each time I have to leave it again.

I left Gorseinon/Kingsbridge/Loughor almost 15 years ago. I went to Penyrheol was saddened with the news of the fire. I would like to see some pictures of Loughor Bridge and the estuary and also of the local carnival - if it still happens! Gorseinon is a great place!

I think Gorseinon is a good place to be, apart from the devastation of Penyhreol comprehensive school being burnt.

I think that Gorseinon is a wonderful community that has been shattered by the dreadful fire at my comprehensive.

I left Gorseinon in 85 and came to Australia. I went to Gowerton school and others I can't spell. I lived West Street, Penybryn Rd and Beech Cresent. Places I'd like to see are: Fire Station, Penyrheol Primary School, Pontybrenin School,I heard the common now has something built on it...
