Great to see the photos of the falls. I spent many hours as a youngster playing in the area around the falls. We used to swing out towards the river on the lightning conductor hanging from the top of the chimney stack. We also used to swim in the river, the water was black with coal dust being washed down from Cefn Coed colliery. Great to read the comments of Des Fletcher,Tonypandy. He was one of the local gang in Aberdulais

Born 25/1/41 at 30 Canal Bank, Aberdulais. Had some great mates until about eight years of age, played around River Neath, canal locks, aquaduct, railway embankments, walks to Neath along canal Bank....all great memories. If I go back will be the first place I'd go...

Lovely pictures. Conjures up lots of happy memories. My Mother and my Aunt were founder members of 'The Friends of Aberdulais Falls'. To Kim they DO have something to offer. Try the 'tearooms'. Homemade cakes, delightful tea to drink, and a warm welcome by the 'Friends' who will chat and give you lots of information rgarding the history of the area.

I thought that the Falls were great for pictures, but didn't seem to offer much to the visitors. I think by opening something like a tunnel for people to walk under the waterfall would attract visitors to the attraction. They need to add something that will take people's breath away.

Brought up in Canal Bank Aberdulais. Swam in the river by the falls. The entrance to the copperworks was at that time Dr Prells surgery. Aberdulais was olso known as the village of bridges. I worked for Stanfords Bakery until I left in 1950 and went into the RAF.
