Even though I only live 30 miles away I take every chance to go to Tenby. Driving into the town when you first see the church spire, it just feels like coming home.

I was born in Tenby, and even though I left almost 50 years ago, it is still home for me, especially so as many relatives and friends still live there. I return as often as possible and it is [as] though I never left!

It is a town like no other, where you always feel so welcome. It has survived the pressures to 'modernize' and retains the charm and character that I grew up with as a child.

Even after all these years I still have that sense of expectation and excitement to walk up the Norton and to finally take in the vista of the harbour and North Beach. Ah, Tenby!

I have visited Tenby since I was two-years old. My mother Murial Wickland was born in Tenby and lived in the house next to the fisherman's church in the harbour.

My grandfather was the harbourmaster. I have family living in Tenby and visit at least once a year. We stay at 2 Queens Parade, a very quiet part of town overlooking the golf course. Tenby has some excellent restaurants, we like to visit the Baytree in Tudor Square. If you like pub grub try the Buccaneer, great food, large portions and friendly staff. Tenby will always be a special place for me I have so many fond memories.

Well what can I say about Tenby - I think its all been said, we had a fantastic week in September one of the hottest weeks of the year, we had beach days it was fab. We have been going to Tenby area for years and always find different things to do there. We stay close to Carew Castle in a house with all facilities you could wish for, with its own pool - I'm not saying any more about this fantastic accom because you'll all want to go and its mine!

I visited Tenby some years ago, rather crowded so decided to tour the beautiful surrounding countryside. I am going there with a party of 8 for a cousins' 3 night break in September, and as I live in a rather small pretty medieval town, I shall appraise Tenby with a rather critical eye for a review.

Regarding drunkeness on the street, we ourselves in Bridgnorth have a very busy Friday night, but due to higher and better levels of policing, problems such as this have been very much reduced. So I suggest you apply more pressure on your police force in this matter.

I am originally from Wales and have always said that Tenby was my favorite place to visit . This year my husband made his first trip there and now understands why I love Tenby so much. He had a great time and says he's definately coming back

Perfect place - wouldn't want to go anywhere else. Myself and my son go every year and we love it. Plenty of child-friendly activities to keep him occupied, rain or shine. I personally love Caldy Island. What a stress free magical place. You can feel your troubles just melt away.

Tenby is a really nice place to go on holiday. I go...about four times a year in my caravan...the beaches are fab and the shops are lush.

Tenby is spoilt by drunks. The pub landlords should be more responsible, accountable and be more community spirited (no pun intended) and kerb all this drunkenness which leads upsets and vandalism to innocent people and their property...Apart from that and a few rude kids Tenby (and the rest of S W Wales) are great! Don't go out at the weekends or bank holidays.

Was looking for my dream home in Tenby and noticed that "Down Below" situated right on the Harbour Beach is up for sale. Stayed there many times as a child and have very fond memories. Will be doing the lottery for the next few weeks, or until a sold sign goes up on "Down Below" I can but dream.

Tenby what a place, have sent some friends of mine from Aus there and they have all said "what a lovely place and how friendly the people are".

I first fell in love with Tenby at the age of six when my mother and father took us for the day out on the train and have been in love with it ever since my husband and I spent our honeymoon there and we go back every year for the weekend on our aniversary. We also holiday there with our five children every year when we see the 'Welcome to Tenby' sign we all say we are home because that is what it feels like to us and we are off to Tenby this weekend because all the kids have been ill all half term and the only place they want to go now that they are better is Tenby. We would move there tommorrow if my husband didn't have to travel so far to work it's the best place on earth!

Tenby, without a doubt, has to be one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. As a young Kiwi doing her OE, I worked in Tenby in 1984 at the Clarence House Hotel with another Kiwi girl. We had the best time there, made some wonderful friends and enjoyed Tenby so much. I met my husband in Tenby, he is from Cardiff. We have been back to Wales a few times and each time have been to Tenby. It has changed a little, there are now traffic lights, but on the whole it still remains the same beautiful place it was. The people are fantastic, the atmosphere there in the summer is brilliant and the scenery is to die for.

I was born in Pembroke Dock and brought up in Manorbier I was married at Manorbier Church and my father is buried there. As a family we went to school in Tenby and Tenby is the best place on earth. I now live on the outskirts of Nottingham and return to Tenby every year for a holiday first with my children 27 and 30 yrs and now with my grandchildren. Please, please do not demolish the Lifeboat Station - it is and always will be part of Tenby's heritage.

Just come back from a week in Tenby with friends and I'm pining to go back ASAP. You can feel the stresses of everyday life just slipping away as you wander through the streets down to the beaches. The pubs are wonderful. Roll on summer 2008 in Tenby!

We've been going to Tenby for 38 years. We go 2/3 times a year. Dad had two caravans, when we were younger, one in Penally and one at Stepaside. We still keep going back with our children, now 17 and 19, my parents, nieces, nephews, whoever, the more the merrier. We're going again in 4wks time and staying at Carew. We're counting the days down. It's a place you just keep having to go back to. Our big regret is not moving down there, but you never know, watch this space. THE TENBY CREW

I love Tenby so much for various reasons. It is safe. It is clean. It is so beauiful, and the people are the tops. My father, Denzil Griffiths, was honoured to be Mayor of the town four times. Before he passed away - the last day he came out of Withybush was on Christmas Day, and he had me driving round Tenby three times before he did anything else. I thank the town so much for such a great send off he had.

Regular visitor to Wood Park Caravan Park at New Hedges. Love Tenby, love the parks peace and quiet. It's a shame Tenby manages to attract the stag and hen nights, but it is nice to find a lovely, beautiful park that is unspoiled and manages to filter out the grotty types that are intent on ruining it for families. Well done guys!!

I was born in Pembroke Dock hospital and raised in Tenby and I am listening to Tenby Male Choir while typing this! Although I have lived in Cheltenham for 20 years, I am a Tenby girl through and through. My parents Miguel and Christine still live there and I was married in St Teilo's RC Church last year. Tenby will always have a special place in my heart. Like they say, "you can take the girl out of Wales but not Wales out of the girl!"

I have been holidaying at Trevayne Farm, New Hedges for 46 years (all my life)and have made lifelong friends with fellow visitors whose children are now playing with mine when we visit 4 or 5 times a year. I have also been lucky enough to travel the world but Monkestone Beach is the best,in fact the whole area is very underestimated for its stunning scenery, remote coves, clean safe beaches, where you can actual see your feet in the water! Not so in many other places in the UK. If the old lifeboat slip was demolished the view of Tenby from our beach would never be the same, keep it, its as mu! ch a part of the town as the castle ruins.

Me and my brother fitted all the metal windows to the then new telephone exchange in the mid 1950's. We were there about six weeks we had the best digs you could ever wish for. It was in December and when we came home for Xmas we brought home two Xmas trees from Caldy Island. When we finished with them I planted my one in my garden and was still there after twenty years then we moved and sadly had to leave my lovely Xmas tree. I will never forget Tenby I am now 79 years old I did go back once and it never changed. Thank you Tenby for a lovely memory.

I have been going to Tenby since I was a child - my family went at least once a year and my bother, sister and I have some great memories. My mum went when she was a child too! Sure, it's changed, there're a few things that you might not want to see -but overall Tenby retains it's charm and that certain special feeling still comes whenever we go back, I've got my husband of 8 months hooked too. I'd hate to see the lifeboat station be pulled down - its such a part of Tenby. Hopefully, we'll be able to show any future generations the same things I loved as a child and still ! do now!

I think it would be absolutely awful if they demolish the old Life Boat station in Tenby. It has been there for over 100 years and would be very short sighted of us to rip it down, just like they did to the Victorian pier. I would like the opportunity to walk around it with my Greatgrand Children and tell them stories about it. Won't be as much fun if its not there.

Tenby what a great place. My parents and my brother and sister used to live there over 40 years ago unfortunately they had to move to Talgarth (Nr Brecon) before I was born, so I never got to live there, but had holidays there every year for over 20 years before moving to Melbourne.

I went back to Wales for the first time in over 4 years last September and booked a family holiday for a week in Tenby. Had a great week as usual although some of the "local haunts" have changed names and a lot of the pubs have had a face lift the place is still the same. Time seems to stand still in Tenby which is great.

I still have family living there, Derek & Maureen Williams (Uncle & Aunty) & Julie, Jane, Michelle and Justin (Cousins), they used to drink in the Evergreen, if anybody knows them please say hello.

If one day I returned to live in the "land of my fathers" it would have to be to Tenby. Until then I will keep dreaming and keep doing the lottery.

We had our first holiday in Tenby 2 years ago and I can't wait to go again this year it's totally captured me. I don't need any other holiday resort. We stayed at little kings holiday park which was friendly and very well maintained. I loved the fresh hot bread mmmmmm Please July hurry up can't wait, Tenby and Saundersfoot here we come again.

Brought up in New Hedges then had to move away due to work. I love going back and I'm so fortunate to still have family living there. I don't visit as often as I would like but sadly that's life.

I've always enjoyed the friendly atmosphere there (I know about that coz I was one of those friendly people). I was lucky to stumble upon a school reunion last time I was there and it was lovely to see so many faces from long ago.

Tenby and Saunderfoot will always be in my heart. Stag do revellers please don't abuse the town, there are many people who enloy the serenity of the place. Pubs and beaches second to none.

Me and my family have been going to Tenby for the last 6 years on holiday . The place is brilliant I love it! Every time we go there we find something new to do. The beach is great in summer. I spend the whole day lying on the beach in and out of the water it's ace it's a real break from being a student. Who needs all the fancy beaches abroad just go to Tenby it is just as fun!! xx

Tenby or Saundersfoot is such the most beautiful place that I cant stop going back for more. I stay at Rumbleway where my tourer is sited all year round ,so I see plenty going on,there is something for every one fishing, horseriding, walking, clubbing, it even has a fun station for little ones in the town centre ,swimming ,recreation centre with pool, what more would any one want even a museum. Its nice to go abroad but when you have bad weather there theres nothing to do,but here theres plenty.

I have always loved Tenby ever since I was a child, it still has that charm I can remember. I would however like to see it returned to the families and leave the rowdy asbo types outside the walls! Far too many young adults with too much money, too much alcohol and no consideration for others. When they leave I could think of no better place to be.

You cannot beat Tenby. There is something for everyone, Oakwood Park is close by, you can take a drive along the coast to Amroth, Wisemans Bridge and Pendine. Tenby hosts an excellent night out for young and old. Another place close by is Saundersfoot - just a street but pure class!

When I was a teenager my first jobs were in Tenby - caravan cleaning, working in Woolworths and working on a jeans stall in the market. Now I am representing Tenby as part of my constituency in the Welsh Assembly. The town has grown over the years but it's still an incredible community witha great spirit. This Monday I was at the official opening of the new Tenby Cottage Hospital - after years of campaigning by Tenby residents. Well done to everyone who made this happen - the hospital looks great and it's a testament to the caring and lovely community of Tenby.

A weekly ticket to Tenby is my first recolection of Tenby. Always St Illtyd church Sunday school outing used to be to Tenby. When I was about 11 my parents bought a holiday caravan in Penally and we used to walk the beach to Tenby. It was where my husband and I had our first kiss sat on a boulder facing St Kathrine's rock. That was over 38 years ago, and we are still together. We both still love Tenby.

My husband & I spent a week visiting with my sister and her family in August and fell in love with Tenby. The harbour is beautiful, the town is so quaint and we loved the Tenby Spectacular!! We could walk into town every evening, around the harbour, across the beach, past the golf course and caravan park and back home. Amy - formally of Tenby & still living near
I grew up in Tenby, only moved from the town a few years ago and still worked there up until 3 months ago. Love it in the winter, all those lovely walks, the fresh sea air and the beautiful views. The Summer sucks, there's plenty of beaches in Pembs that don't collect the grockles... Ssshhh!!! All I can say is I'm glad to live near enough in the winter, and far enough away in the summer.

Tenby is a great all round place, I have been going there on holidays for as long as I can remember. It has something for all ages. I even love it out of season. One day I will move there with my family. The people are so relaxed and friendly.

Born in Wales and spent many summer holidays in Tenby and surrounding areas. Mostly us kids in the back of the car holding on to the dinghy on the roof for dear life! I loved swimming around the rock when the tide was in.

Tenby has a magic all of its own, loved it since I was a child and still keep going back, its total escapism, only advice if you havent been is to research the accommodation, my friend had her honeymoon there and stayed in the most awful place that she never wants to go back, which is such a shame, there are so many lovely places to stay. Reccomend it in the summer and off season for total chill out.

Just got back from our holiday in Tenby fab I would recommend it any time if you want a good camp site with fab views over the town and Caldey go to Meadow Farm. Just ideal to unwind and soak up the atmosphere. I do love Tenby this is our 5th year here, whey go abroad when we have some fab scenery right here on our doorstep, well done Tenby.

Naomi, Tenby
I agree with Bill (former Tenby) "rose tinted glasses" - yep. There isn't a decent restaurant, pubs are good (except Prince of Wales) and the place needs a paint! The best thing is the clean sea, and "non-peak season" summer.

This is interesting, what's all this I love Tenby? I used to live there, let's get real. The local and surrounding beaches are very good. But the town !! Take your rose tinted sun glasses off and have a hard realistic look the next time you visit, you will see what I mean!

Tenby is so nice and peaceful the bestest place about going to Tenby on my holiday was the restaurant Pam Pam. The food was excellent and the restaurant has just gone under new manegment. Well done to who ever owns Pam Pam the best restaurant in Wales.

What a lovely place Tenby is. Beaches are idyllic, town is friendly if you could guarantee the weather you wouldn't go abroad again. The people of Tenby are obviously very proud of their town, the traders are always so friendly Excellant restaurants in the town, Baytree in Tudor Square stood out from the crowd though, superb food, excellant live music and such friendly staff. Recommend Myrtle Guest House to stay in, owner was just lovely.

I first visited Tenby as a child in 1953 and have loved it ever since. My family and I have had an annual holiday in Tenby at Whitsun with our chums from Abergavenny, for years. We have never tired of walks along the South Beach, sometimes to Giltar Point; evening strolls up round Albert; paddling in the shallow waves when the tide's out across the North beach to Goscar Rock; a morning in the wonderful museum and art gallery; another at the lifeboat; yet another at the Tudor Merchant's House; browsing the shops; our special night out at The Mews; the Tuesday boat trip to Caldey, its lighthouse and seals [despite not being as easy to see there as they are here in Norfolk!] We're often joined by others from all parts of the country for days out on 'our' beach in front of our rented house on the harbour. Everything about Tenby is idyllic.

Tenby is truly one of the nicest places in the UK...it does have everything...in the winter and the summer. Even though the summer is always jam-packed with tourists, the atmosphere is amazing. Try the Baytree restaurant if you want great food and cheerful service. To sum up Tenby- Happy days!

As a child I spent many happy holidays in Tenby, after returning after some 20 years later I was amazed how it has not changed. Tenby is still as beautiful now as it was then. I now holiday in Tenby with my own children, and they feel the same excitment about the place as I did. Tenby is undoubtedly the most beautiful place on Gods earth.

My whole family loves Tenby, sitting on the benches down by the harbour having a coffee from the little kiosk watching the world go by. I'm totally relaxed while our son enjoys himself on the beach. Ask my 5 year old where he wants to go on holiday, Tenby will always be his answer. Our other son is only 6 months old and is going to Tenby for his first time in May. I'm sure he will love it just like the rest of the us. xx

Tenby will always be a special place for me as I have had some of the best times ever there, whether it being a night out with the girls or a day on the golden sanded beach. It's just one of those places where you feel like your on holiday even if you only live down the road!!

As a transplanted Tenby boy and although gone for 35 years, nothing excites me more then the thought of coming home to see friends and family as often as I can. Tenby stays in your heart, it's a place that you may go from but never leave, and it never leaves you, that's the kind of place you can always call home.

I was stationed on the harbour with the RAF @ Tenby in 1979. There's a touch of Dylan Thomas about it. The Isle of Wight takes some beating, but Tenby and the surrounding area does. I would love to move to Tenby, but persuading my wife is going to be hard.

Nowhere can compare, cry every year when I have to once again leave it all behind. You come back a year later and its just the same yet still as enjoyable. Lucky enough to see it from the top of St. Mary's Church this year, what a view.

Tenby is the most beautiful beaches in the U.K. Unfortunately some weekend revellers need to understand that Tenby is a resort for everybody of all ages, creeds and walks of life. As soon as this happens there will be only one word to descride Tenby..........Perfect.

Tenby has been a favorite holiday destination for me since my early childhood. I'm now in my 30's and my husband and our kids love it there too. Tenby has so much to offer young familes, pensioners etc. I love to stand and look at the houses by the harbour. It's such a pretty place and the beach is so clean. I have never been abroad, never wanted to when there is such beauty to be enjoyed here in Wales. Pam Pam's is the best place to dine out. We have always had first class service there, and never a bad meal.

I have been visiting Tenby for more than 40 years and my dream would be to retire there. The one place where I just stand on the South beach and I am totally satisfied with the world. I've seen it in heatwaves and in storms and each time it seems the most beautiful place in the world - my heart lies there.

Growing up, Tenby was always my favourite place to visit. Now that my three children have spent a holiday there they totally agree with me. Newfoundland is surrounded by water but there's not a beach here that could compare with those of Tenby.
