I loved LLandovery all through my childhood right up to my teens. Spent most of my holidays with my Aunt June, Uncle david and cousin Charly at the Kings Head. I have heard that this lovely Welsh town hasn't really changed apart from Aunt June dsn't run the hotel anymore. Will come back and visit one day XXXX

A native of the town left for an overseas adventure in 1975 and still here. I visit on occasions...It's a place I miss. When you are away for so long you lose contact with all your old friends. I just love the place.

Returned back home for a flying visit in August 2007. The town has changed only a little. I love the colours of some of the houses and the new very modern public toilets. Went up to the castle where we all used to play for hours. The views of the river are not quite as good, too many trees, but its still very beautiful.

Saw quite a few people that I knew but not as many as I would have liked. Hope to return again soon . Please dont alter it too much.

I lived in Llandovery...and went to Vicar Pritchard School and the then County High School, before moving to Cardiff, and now France. Out of the 10 schools I attended it was the best. I was very lucky to have spent time there. . . .Great website!

I moved to Llandovery in 1966 and lived there with my family for many years. It is the most wonderful place to live - safe, vibrant and full of good people! I have so many happy memories of the Dramatic Society, the Brownies I helped with and the other activities.

I used to have many a happy nights there, rugby club being the main one! Many of my friends still work in the area on farms and go to Llandovery. I now live up North with my family, but will take them back to my old haunt when visiting my parents. Also, really nice chinese takeaway!

Been visiting Llandovery and more importantly the peeps there now for best part of 10 years, I've had some fabulous times there... but the best memory has to be my best mates wedding Kelly & Sion, reception was at the Castle and photo's were up on the hill, weather was fab too... who says it always rains in Wales? (Ok most of the time!!!). As for the scenery and the surrounding views, awesome, if only I'd have bought a house there earlier... when prices were more reasonable!!!

Llandovery is my haven, my 'Escape to the Country': we moved here from the chaos of the city of Newport five years ago. I love its hidden gems, like the kingfishers on the river by the mart. I love its sense of isolation, surrounded by hills. I love the moods of all the streams and rivers, that change so much across the seasons, or with a sudden change in the weather. I love the old sheepdog that wanders into town, says hello to a few people, then wanders home again. I love the fact that I now live in a place that other people choose as a holiday stop-off. Sit in the window at Megan's coffee house on the corner of Stone Street, with a mug of milky coffee, on a Saturday morning and you will see the whole world go by.

Born and brought up in Llandovery, I left in 1971 and still class it as my home. While reading comments from younger people about nothing to do it was always the same but we had loads of fun. I would like to visit the old haunts again and to see how much has changed.

The Rugby Club is the best thing about Llandovery - watch the lads hammer Llanharan and the likes on a Saturday afternoon and then rock the night away in the club house in the evening. Good atmosphere, the latest tunes and cheap beer - does for me!

Llandovery is such a nice place. The only problem is that it takes so long to get to. Looking forward to returning to my home town at Christmas and meeting up with friends for a few drinks. Happy Days. Merry Christmas

I love the community spirit of Llandovery and I do like the skate park as I beleive it keeps the youths occupied within the area, although it does need a little TLC.

My childhood and home will always be Llandovery. A magical place you could not hope to find elsewhere... I understand that magical is the definition of home but you have to have grown up there to understand. I hope that for eternity that it remains the same jewel in the Towy Valley that it always has been for future generations to come...

With regard to Al's question about converting the castle into apartments, it is a listed building so I do not know whether that is possible.

Comic Roger rocks, remember the name because that lad is going places. He makes Reverb what it is. I have seen him DJ on a number of occasions and I was very impressed. The boy got skills.

Is it true that they are converting the Llandovery Castle into luxury apartments?

It is a nice place to live to raise a family as it is safe and also a nice and quiet town to live when you are getting old. For the younger generation it can be extremely boring and there is nothing for them to do. As for the nightlife, it is a joke with the rocking rugby club on a Saturday night.
