Sian is a fan of The Warpool Court Hotel in St Davids:
"It is exceptional, the food is of the greatest standard and the gardens and lounge are always spotlessly clean and wonderfully arranged. The views of the surrounding coastline are magificent. The staff in this hotel are brilliant. This hotel is of exceptional standard."

Sheila highlights The Cliff Hotel:
"Cliff Hotel at Gwbert, Cardigan, is in the most stunning location. The Welsh speaking staff are excellent the vegetarian and vegan food is to die for and the rooms are spotlessly clean and very comfortable."

Neil has nominated Pleasant Valley House Hotel in Pembrokeshire:
"A lovely little hotel situated about five minutes walk from Wiseman's Bridge. It is owned and run by Dave and Sue who are an extremly friendly couple from Yorkshire. They go out of their way to ensure you have a really comfortable visit! It has a bar, a swimming pool and the home cooked food is the best. What more could you ask for!"

Stephen has this to say about the Normandy Inn:
"I love staying at the Normandy Inn in Tenby. Lovely clean rooms, good food and great nitelife too."

Gerry Rose has nominated:
"The County Hotel in Haverfordwest."

"Llwyn Hall in Llwynhendy, Llanelli is a lovely Georgian house, beautifully renovated with wonderful antiques. The restaurant is fantastic and they also have a coverted cottage where they do B&B and they cater for private dinner parties. People just keep on going back."

Maggie from Ferryside in Carmarthenshire loves a hotel in a neighbouring county:
"A friend told me about the Lamphey Court Hotel and it lived up to everything they said. It's in a gorgeous setting (just next to the old bishop's palace) has a nice pool, lovely large rooms, and cheerful staff."

When in North Gower, we always eat at The King's Head Hotel in Llangennith, which is along the beach from Rhossili. They have great Sunday lunches in the winter and home-cooked food all year round. I've heard their new bedrooms are fabulous, with fantastic sea views.

I travel a lot. The most fantastic place I have ever stayed in is Coedllys Country House, Llangynin, St. Clears, Carmarthenshire. Just too good for words. The best place ever!! Can't wait to go back.

You must try the food at Jabajak near Whitland, the place is also stunningly furnished and the staff are really friendly. A lot of their food is grown on site or sourced locally. A real treat in the heart of Carmarthenshire.

I have travelled all over the US and Europe, and Warpool Court has to be the most wonderful place I've ever stayed. Food, staff, scenery, location all the best.

The Hope & Anchor Inn, Goodwick was where we stayed when we visited Pembrokeshire. It's a lovely little place: hearty breakfasts, beautifully decorated bedrooms and a good menu if you want to eat in. We only stayed a night as we were cathing the boat over to Ireland but we hope to return to The Hope next summer- Also: it's no smoking which we loved!!

A craking little hotel to stay in if your crossing the Irish sea is to be found in Goodwick, Fishguard. The Hope & Anchor Inn is a wonderful little bar, restaurant and hotel. The beer is smashing as is the food ...and my room was a delight to stay in with crisp, clean linens, beautiful king-size bed and all the trimmings of tea and coffe, water, biscuits etc etc...

Carol Adkinson (nee Ward) now in Suffolk,
We spend a lot of time in the Wolfscastle Hotel and Restaurant in Wolfscastle - the food is absolutely wonderful, the staff always happy and willing to do anything to make life there pleasant, the rooms are all so well-equipped and comfortable - and the home-made fudge is the best ever! Roll on next summer when we will be there once again!

Adrian from North Wales
My wife and I stayed recently at Ty Mawr at Brechfa near Carmarthen - it's small (5 bedrooms) and a lovely building in the heart of the little village, surrounded by the Brechfa forest area, and good too for exploring further afield. Hospitality is excellent - friendly, no pretentions, rooms simple and well equipped - and the food is delicious, simply and skilfully handled using quality, almost all organic, and mainly local produce.

Big Mike from Sandfields
The Aberafan Beach Hotel
Sun Jul 24 11:10:08 2005

Zoe from Trebanos
I agree with Sian on The Warpool Court, but also near Tenby is Penally Abbey. A beautiful house & garden, lovely rooms and converted stables. The staff are really friendly and the food unbeatable.
