Haverfordwest Art Club

Last updated: 07 June 2007

If the last time you "did" art was at school - maybe it's time to flex your artistic skills. Need some inspiration? Take a look at what they're doing in Haverfordwest. Here Sue Russell tells us about the group she founded the Picton Painters.

Picton Painters Art Group was started in 1996.We meet every Thursday morning for two hours from 10am. There are 15 to 18 members at present .

A group of enthusiastic painters of mixed ages and genders, using different media including pastels, watercolours, acrylics, chroma, oils, pencils etc.

There are no formal tutors but the more experienced members help the newcomers and critisize each others work with rigour, sometimes with amusing comments, all taken in good humour.

It is a great opportunity to socialise, learn to paint, and enjoy the company of fellow art lovers

This looks like the cottages at Trefin where I have enjoyed watching seals. It brings backs good memories and is an excellent likeness.
