Originally known as "Me myself and mate", the band was born in 2004 with 4 members, Joe Diment (Drums), Matthew Tebbutt (bass), Matthew Bedford (Guitar) and Hugh Brace (Guitar).
As soon as the band had all their instruments, short practises took place in Joe's conservatory, during these practises the bands magic was established. Slowly, everybody had heard of the band and wanted to hear their magic, the outcome of this was a few small gigs. Having these gigs in their sight the band was upgraded to the famous static caravan. The caravan enabled the band to enlarge on their talents, which made the band more focused on how powerful they could get.
Sadly, some major changes happened to the band after the move, Matthew Bedford decided to leave the band to procure other projects, which made way for Oliver Poole, who stepped in to help the band along.
After these changes the band felt that they needed to change their name to a short more powerful name... Silage was born.
Silage went on to conquer the world with gigs including Manorbier community hall and a joint 30th birthday party in a big barn in front on 150+ people. But, as soon as 2005 came round Silage ground to a halt once again with the departure of Matthew Tebbutt. Silage was just left with three members, Joe Diment, Oliver Poole and Hugh Brace.
Out of the blue, the band was faced with the challenge of playing in a school St. David's day assembly. The band practised three songs, but without the band knowing it this gig would mark the last gig Silage would do with Oliver Poole.
As time went by and one thing lead to another there was two things pulling Silage down, it only had two members and a little thing called...GCSE's. The band was at a big lull during these tests, and the lull carried right on in to the summer holidays.
Out of nowhere September came along and the new school term had started, and as if by magic, Silage naturally came back together with the original members of Joe Diment (Drums and Backing Vocals), Matthew Bedford (Guitar /Vocals), Matthew Tebbutt (Bass) and Hugh Brace (Guitar), the original 'Me myself and mate".
With the band back together, and stronger than ever, Silage was ready to finish the job of taking on the world.
The band was churning out of songs, including songs they had written themselves. Silage's equipment became better quality including, a Fender Jaguar guitar, Marshall 50w amp, a Cyclone guitar, a Westfield bass guitar, a Premier drum Kit with Sabian cymbals, tons of pedals and even a 500w PA system. Yes, the Silage magic was bigger than ever!
Playing at gigs became an every weekend occurrence, and as 2006 came along Silage once again played in front of the school for the St. David's day concert.
At the moment Silage are mainly writing their own material and are set to record their own albums.
