In The Pink

Pink Pavilion

Last updated: 04 August 2006

What did you think of the 2006 Eisteddfod's eye-catching pink pavilion?

The usual version, in the more familiar blue-and-yellow colours, is "having a break" while the pinker edition was raised in support of the Walk-the-Walk Breast Cancer appeal.

A striking and marvelous site. The Eisteddfod is certainly moving with the times while retaining its essential traditions. The sybolism of the pink pavilion supporting Walk-the-Walk Breast Cancer appeal is a great idea.

I am a breast cancer sufferer myself and in a strange way, seeing the bright pink pavilion gives me a degree of support. I am looking forward to competing in the mixed choir competition on Friday. I love singing and being a choir member and preparing for the Eisteddfod has helped me cope with my illness.

Looks good and much more modern, colourful than the yellow and blue. Nice to know its symbolic to a cause as well. Feel the Eisteddfod needs to embrace change and modern ways, somehow this seems to do that.

Here I am broken hearted again. I am looking at the pink pavilion from my home here in Oakford. That is Oakford 34 kilometers from Perth, Western Australia, not Oakford on the way to New Quay Cardigan!!!! What a wonderful sight, and all that is to come. I was so hopeful of getting there this year, but not to be. I was an evacuee staying with John & Margaret James at Pendre, Llwyndafydd from 1940 to 1946. Went to Caerwedros School. I love Cymru and I have never been able to get to an Eisteddfod yet. My best wishes go out to you the organizers and to all the wonderful competitors. Hwyl fawr. Douglas

What's your verdict? Would you like to see it in another shade altogether? If so what?
