Have a look at Kersten Howard's Slideshow
What's your name? Kersten Howard
Where are you from originally and where are you now?Originally from Lamphey in Pembrokeshire. Now living in the Tenby area.
What medium / media do you work in? Photography. I use a range of Nikon digital SLR's.
How would you describe your work? Mainly land and sea scapes of my home county of Pembrokeshire.
What are your influences and inspirations? My grandmother dragged all four grandchildren out onto the Pembrokeshire Coastal path every Sunday after lunch. It was her that opened my eyes to the beauty this county has to offer.
As for fellow photographers I love the work of Joe Cornish, Charlie Waite and the late great Ansel Adams.
Which piece are you most proud of and why?A Ray Of Hope (new lifeboat station in Tenby). I was just there at the right place at the right time to capture the image. Also because the RNLI accepted the first print I made of it as a gift and I have promised to give them at least 20% of all future sales.
Have you had any exhibitions - if so, where? Do you have any planned in the future? I exhibit throughout the year at a few galleries around Pembrokeshire and with the Pembrokeshire Craft Makers. Dates and places can change so please visit my website for up to date details.
Please give a brief description of one or two of the projects you've worked on recently. I don't set myself projects as such. I go where I want, when I want, when the light is right. I like the freedom photography gives me.
What are your views on the current arts scene nationally and in South Wales? Not sure about nationally but locally in Pembrokeshire it seems to be on the up. There are a lot of artists in the area and the standards are very high.
