"By training and profession I am a graphic designer. In January 2000, having passed the age of 50, I suddenly gave into 25 years of good intentions and started drawing and painting seriously.
"There is nothing profound or conceptual about the way I work. My pictures are highly representational. I draw what I see in great detail with some added embellishment or artistic editing to enhance the overall visual effect."
"I find everything in Pembrokeshire inspirational the coast, the countryside and above all the superb quality of light. I love to capture the moment. It is not only the broader views that attract me, I am also fascinated by the small corners which might go unnoticed by the majority of passers by. A drystone wall or an old arthritic tree clinging to a mossy bank excites me as much as dramatic shafts of sunlight playing over the contours of of the Presili Hills or the broad sweep of St Brides Bay. The beautiful tidal estuary along which I live and work at Llangym, ever changing with the tide, weather and season is alos an endless source of subject matter."
"I work in a mixture of media, predominantly in coloured pencil combined with chalk pastel, water colour, ink and gouache, on smooth white mounting board and occasionally a watercolour board."
