How it all started
Jayne, whose a student at Coleg Sir Gâr's West Wales School of the Arts in Carmarthen, has been offered a placement at Alexander McQueen's studio in London, as a design assistant.
In her first year of studying for a BA Honours Fashion degree, Jayne, from Five Roads in Llanelli, will helping out on the new collection at the designer's studio, working on a new brocade signature print.
She applied for the placement through an advertisement Alexander McQueen had placed for students and graduates.
After sending some samples of work and information about herself, Jayne received a call from the McQueen office asking her to attend an interview. She was offered the placement immediately after her interview
From tailoring to Givenchy
Alexander McQueen is one of the most famous international fashion designers in the world. He has been named British designer of the year four times and has also worked as head designer for the French Haute Couture House, Givenchy.
Looking forward to the placement, Jayne said "I admire Alexander McQueen as a designer.
"His craft was initially learnt in a tailor's on Saville Row, and I feel that you are only as good as your basic skills and that is the essence of a good design and designer.
"I feel really pleased that I was chosen, though I have only been doing the course a short time, so I feel like it's all new to me and I have so much to learn."
