Look out for: A huge variety of wildlife and spectacular views
The Coed Morgannwg Way is 36 miles long and follows the route of ancient Celtic tracks, passing near to the remains of several Bronze and Iron Age settlements and through the three forests of Margam, Cymmer and Rheola, collectively known as Coed Morgannwg. It also connects Margam Park, Afan Forest Park, Dare Valley Country Park and Gethin Woodland Park, and there are links to the Ogwr Ridgeway Walk and the Taff Trail, so theres a lot to see - and do - along its length. The Coed Morgannwg Way is way-marked with a black footprint. The length of the route and the terrain, which is steep and rough in places, mean that it's inadvisable to tackle the walk in one day (although it is possible to walk it in about 16 hours). The route is divided into a number of easier sections as a result. For your own safety, you should leave details of your journey with the Rangers before starting. In order to make the walk more manageable, we've split the walk into nine sections. In the drop-down menu you can access any of the sections by clicking on a walk marked 'CM', or follow the walks stage by stage. To get started, click here.
