Afan Valley views and heritage on this section of the Way.
Look out for: Medieval ruins and spectacular views
This is one section of a walk along the Coed Morgannwg Way. From the River Afan in the Forest Park there's a steep climb to the cycleway and then another to the ridge overlooking the valley. Look out for the ruins of Gyfylchi Chapel, a site of worship for early Nonconformists. Theres a forest car park at Gyfylchi and, further on there are great views down the Afan Valley to Swansea Bay and across the Channel. You'll pass by Northend Colliery before reaching the ruins of Nant-y-Bar Farm, which is thought to be of medieval origin.
