Otter Otter

Found throughout the region in fresh and salt water, the Eurasian Otter is the only otter native to Britain. A playful animal which has adapted well to aquatic life, otters feed on fish, crustaceans, voles and frogs. With webbed toes, a powerful tail and the ability to close their ears and nostrils while underwater, they are effective hunters - but their numbers are in decline.

Their populations are diminishing, and they are strictly protected by legislation.
