Common Oak Cwmllwyd Wood Local Nature Reserve

Lying on the southern slope of Cockett Valley about two miles from Swansea, Cwmllwyd Wood consists mainly of oak trees planted 100 years ago and two ponds that provide a haven for wildlife. The area has a history of coal mining from the 17th century onward, with the remains of about 35 bell pits visible within the reserve.

Guided visits are available for schools and groups.
