Established in 1972, the Trust now has over 1,100 sites in its care covering approximately 19,000 hectares (47,000 acres). These include 129 sites in Wales, with a total area of 1,580 hectares (3,900 acres), offering free public access to almost all of its sites. The Trust also offers a range of activities such as walks, tree planting and public consultations. The Trust adopted a new Welsh language name in 2000: 'Coed Cadw'. This is an old Welsh term used in medieval laws to describe protected or preserved woodland. | Address: | Coed Cadw - The Woodland Trust, Uned K, Yr Hen Orsaf, Llanidloes, Powys SY18 6EB | | Tel: | 01686 412508 | | Website: | www.coed-cadw.org.uk |
