The Darwin Science Festival aims to promote public understanding of science, nature and health. Events include a lecture series; an educational programme with a science competition and roadshows and beach days; field days and hunts for damsel and dargonfly. The annual school science competition, Science Aglow, is open to schoolchildren throughout Wales.
A two-day international marine conference with the Darwin Centre for Biology and Medicine will be held in 2002. The organisation is part of the Linnaeus-Darwin initiative which met in Florence in 2001 with European funding.
