The Journey - the Meaning and the Reason of Life
"I walked 190 miles on the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path from Cardigan town to Amroth, from Saturday 23 July until Thursday 7 August 1997.
This was my pilgrimage. My 'Red Road'. I journeyed solo to find enlightenment and spiritual awareness that can only come with solitude - you cannot find it with modern day comforts suppressing your spiritual feelings. You have to strip away your comforts and isolate yourself to see what really matters.
You will have hardships on the journey, but you must not look for them. The meaning of the journey will reveal itself after it has stripped away all your preconceptions and the arrogance of modern man.
And you will see the power of nature all around you and everything has a life span from bees to rocks, and time does not matter. Time only matters to Man's simple mind. I called the walk, 'The Journey of the Swans', because I had swans for company all the way, and that meant a lot to me."
