The plan is to create a BBC Breathing Place within the area around the Community Centre at Gendros in Swansea.
The BBC Wales team aims to reclaim a neglected area around the Gendros Community Centre in Swansea and turn it into an attractive refuge for both wildlife and local people.
A team of enthusiastic volunteers and experts will be given just two days to transform their patch and they'll need all their ingenuity and determination to make it happen
But with expert guidance from the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales and the City and Council of Swansea, the team of volunteers will improve existing habitats, create a pond, put in a hedge and provide seating.
The SWAT weekend will run alongside BBC One's Springwatch TV series - with presenters Bill Oddie, Kate Humble and Simon King taking a close look at how the season is progressing up and down the country.
Sophie Duncan, BBC Breathing Places Project Executive, said: "With fifty Springwatch Action Teams out and about across the UK this weekend, and with hands-on help from the public, we can really make a long-lasting difference for local people, local places and for wildlife too. Over the coming years, all of them can benefit from these special Breathing Places."
BBC Breathing Places is a major campaign to inspire and motivate people to create and care for nature-friendly green places wherever they live.
