Clive Elsbury in Caerphilly was impressed:"My wife and I went to see Rain with Cirque Eloize and were enthralled by such a spectacular show. Very unusual but artistically brilliant. The finale was very clever.
"The auditorium is splendid, spacious and so very interesting. The concourse and bar areas are a little minimalist but, with large audiences moving around, is probably sensible.
"We have since booked to see Kiss Me Kate and Miss Saigon. I am sure that the Millennium Centre will be a Jewel in the Crown of Wales for a very long time."
"Badly Dubbed Boy" in Cardiff reckons he's seen better:"I was fortunate enough to see the WMC stage for myself recently - and it's bloody tiny! After all the hype about how big it was, and the sheer size of the armadillo, I was surprised to find the main stage auditorium feeling quite tiny, closetted and closed-in. I think Theatr Ardudwy in Harlech's bigger!"
Gavin in Cardiff is unhappy at the congestion it causes:"It looks like an armadillo and it brings Cardiff Bay to a standstill whenever there is an event on. When it was built they neglected to build a car park to handle the inevitable extra traffic. Inevitable because public transport to the Bay is poor."
Allan Evans in Cardiff wasn't impressed by the programme for the opening weekend:"I presume and hope that the Royal Performance was a 'one-off', and that it doesn't reflect the type and quality of future performances at the WMC. I thought it was dated, drab, of questionable quality, and it did not offer a broad enough selection.
"Charlotte Church was dreadful - why was she performing? Just because she is Welsh? I couldn't believe it when it was announced that the climax of the evening was....the WMC Stompers! I could happily have turned off the TV at any time during the show, but that last Act was the final straw. The WMC may be a beautiful building, and the acoustics superb, but give me St Davids Hall for the artists & performers."
Diana Williams in London wants to see a tribute to a famous Welsh performer:"I and many others gave money for the Ivor Novello Statue Fund, the statue we were told was to be outside the Millennium Centre - what has happened to it? Although many people do not remember him, and so I am not too surprised there is nothing to remind us, lots of us in England do. He was probably the hugest musical star to come from Wales, or any other place in the 20th Century."
