Jean Moyse in Winnipeg, Canada, wonders if she's related to our silver-booted rugby hero:"My dad James Henson played rugby as a young man - he was born in 1895 and I have his cap dated 1922-23 (pictured above). It has the initials C.R.F.C. - Cardiff Rugby Football Club. I have been told it was a junior international club, although he would have been 27 or 28 at the time.
"I also wonder if Gavin Henson might have ancestors related. My dad never missed a rugby match and he was a builder by trade."
Annette O'Hagan in Brisbane, Australia, is puzzled by the name of a former Valleys terrace:"There used to be a row of houses near Llanover Colliery/pumping station not far from Blackwood in the Sirhowy Valley called Rank Sir Henry. Although long gone I would like to know how the name came about."
Brian Lee in Cardiff asks about a superstar's stand-in:"Ira Stevens left Cardiff in 1936 to becomeShirley Temple's double. She appeared in Little Princess and A ChristmasCarol? But what happened to her afterwards?"
Richard Palser in Hemel Hempstead asks about a Welsh tenor:"Does anyone know of or remember Granville Madden who sang at the Newbridge Memo and in Opera before the Welsh National Opera existed?"
