Mandy Baldwin from Bridgend has a query: "Are there any geology clubs in the area?" John wants information about Sedbury Park near Chepstow: "Can anyone tell me when this imposing building was built and for who? It sits on top of a hill as you go to Beachley. I would like to know its history - would be grateful for any information." Peter in Chepstow has the answer: "See www.sedburypark.co.uk for a basic history of this interesting landmark." More on Chepstow David Blight from Thaxted, Essex, is writing about growing up in Cardiff:"I am writing a book about my early life in Portmanmoor Road, Splott, in the 50s called, believe it or not Portmanmoor Road. Anyone remember me or the family at no 13 which was my gran's second hand shop next to Bob Hockey? And the butchers where my mate Alan Jupe lived where we were always in trouble." Frances was born in Portmanmoor Road: "I recall the second hand shop and Charlie Lowe the butcher! Did you write your book Dave?" Liz's grandfather used to own a shop in Portmanmoor Road: "Archie Saunders owned 'Sarnia Stores' at 141 Portmanmoor Rd on the corner of Bridgend St. Archie & Lucy raised their 13 children there." Karen from Pontypridd is researching stories and legends attached to pubs in Rhondda Cynon Taff: "I have come to the conclusion that the most entertaining information comes by word of mouth. So - if anyone has any good ghost stories or humourous tales regarding eccentric landlords/characters, celebrity customers or historical incidents/occasions, it would be great to hear from you. Many thanks." See some more questions...
