"4th December 1995 wasn't just the date of another gig at Newport Centre: the Stone Roses were in town - this was an event. The atmosphere had been pretty tense all night with a fairly strong contingency of football supporters in the crowd. Unusually, the photographers werent given the standard 'first three songs' to take photographs, but were instead allowed to shoot the entire set.
"About two thirds of the way through the show, Ian Brown decided to don a Cardiff City football shirt. Not the brightest of moves when youre in Newport on any day, and youre asking for a riot when you have Cardiff City, Swansea City and Newport County fans all mingling in the same hall..."
