As part of her studies at the University of Wales,
Newport, aspiring war photographer Anastasia
Taylor-Lind travelled to northern Iraq at the end of
2003 to record the lives of a small band of Kurdish
guerrilla fighters called the Peshmerga Force for Women.

These are a selection of the photos she took which formed part of her final graduation exhibition at UWCN in May 2004.
