Tues 4 April - Tessa Jowell's marriage
"Some years ago near to here, a couple who had some problems with the way they were behaving socially, before the time of the ASBO may I say, moved home from the place they had virtually destroyed by their life style. They were in fact evicted by the council, who held the mortgage on the house.
"They were apparently refused a council house on the grounds that they had effectively made themselves homeless by their bad behaviour.
"On advice from somewhere, they declared they were seeking to divorce, and went through the procedure, at least as far as the decree nisi. Now the wife was technically homeless, and so qualified for a council accommodation, which was granted.
"After a short period, the 'ex' husband moved back in, and the decree absolute was never sought.
"Due to this scenario, I contemplated the recent shennanigans by one of our government ministers, and came to the conlusion that that minister must have been in contact with the very same person who advised our erstwhile neighbours of latter days.
"Why and how else would a marriage, which had supposedly broken down, (due to certain activities, and once the immediate publicity having died down), suddenly be back on?
"A little bit suspiciously coincidental I fear.
"True there was no damaged house, or movement into alternative, freely provided, accommodation, or at least not so publicly declared, but much the same general circumstances when taking the convenience of the whole matter into consideration.
"One hopes that the return to the marriage bed will no doubt be beneficial, but one also wonders just why, except for a means to wriggle off the hook of antipathetic publicity and possible demotion from her post in government, did that minister go through the perceived trauma of a marriage split at all.
"I am not so green these days as I used to be when younger, so I apply a very thick coat of suspicion whenever I am being led by the nose by figures in the public eye, hence my comments on the matter."
